Seapool House, Poolewe

Seapool House is a luxurious newly built detached house situated in a superb position overlooking the beautiful river Ewe in the village of Poolewe. It is named after the famous salmon beat on the river, which it overlooks.

The house is finished to an exceptionally high standard, and the solid oak floors with under floor heating on the ground floor give it a warm cottage style atmosphere. The lounge has deep leather sofas, a wood burning stove and patio doors which lead out from both the lounge and the large kitchen/dining area to the patio and garden, perfect for alfresco dining in the summer months. All three bedrooms are superbly presented, and all have views of the river opposite.

Poolewe is a very pretty village and has a village shop providing holiday essentials, a hotel/bar, three cafés, children’s play area, indoor swimming pool and a village hall, which hosts a local producers weekly market and is not to be missed. The house is ideally situated for walking, there are many excellent walks close by, and there are many outstanding sandy beaches within a short drive. There are many walks straight from the door, a favourite following the river to where it meets Loch Ewe and spotting the local wildlife on the way.

The world famous Inverewe Gardens are only 10 minutes’ walk away and the River Ewe is one of the best salmon fishing rivers in the area. Gairloch, the nearest small town, is only 6 miles away and there you will find more shops, restaurants and hotels. From Gairloch pier, fishing and wildlife cruises can be arranged and there is also a golf course and pony trekking centre.

Seapool House is the perfect place to enjoy the great outdoors, whether it be rock pooling at one the many beaches close by, wildlife watching along the river or walking one of the many trails visitors of all ages will be spoilt for choice.

The house is next door to Riverside Cottage.

The Perry’s, Fife

Our second stay and just as nice. Weather mixed but we coped! Beautiful beaches at Gairloch, Mellon Udrigle and Red Point. Lovely walk on the Kernsary round too. Be back one day.

The Masons, N Yorks

Another relaxing week at the cottage. Have enjoyed walks up the river, spotted the eagles, herons and some newts. We also enjoyed another visit to Inverewe – wonderful at this time of year. The weather hasn’t been great but still got to the beach. Looking forward to our next visit.

The Smith & Stevanovic familys, Sunderland/Edinburgh

Another enjoyable stay at Seapool House. Underfloor heating a real hit with the girls! Already looking forward to next year, can’t wait.

The Williams, Cardiff

A very enjoyable holiday! Plenty of fishing for the children as well as excellent sandy beaches. The weather was good so we were able to get out walking in the idyllic countryside. Bird watching from the window was an added bonus! Hope to be back soon

The Smiths, Cropredy

A superb holiday home in a lovely location. Had one week on Skye and a week here – enjoyed both very much. Beautiful scenery and beaches. Saw an otter along the front but unfortunately no sea eagles. Weather quite good for Scotland.
