This delightful cottage is situated in its own grounds, on a working croft in Mellon Charles on the east side of Loch Ewe and enjoys views of the loch.
It provides comfortable accommodation for 6 people and enjoys wonderful sea and mountain views. It has been recently refurbished and has a pleasant garden which is surrounded by open countryside and scattered dwellings. It is however very private and not overlooked. There is a small beach within a few minutes walk and even a duck pond in the field to the front of the cottage.
Loch Ewe is a natural deep water loch that was used as a naval base in the second world war. It still has a fuel depot at its head and occasionally ships and even submarines come into the loch to fuel up. The world famous Inverewe Gardens is also at the head of this loch.
The cottage is only 2 miles from Aultbea, from where you can travel north or south for day trips, where you will see some of the most beautiful scenery on the west coast.
There are also many outdoor activities available locally, including mountaineering and hill walking, golf, pony trekking, fishing, sea life cruises and bird watching. Or you could just sit and enjoy the peace and tranquility.
Front hall with windows overlooking the loch with the mountains behind.

We had a marvellous holiday on Loch Ewe, with mostly beautiful weather, this allowed us to go on some very good walks around the surrounding area. Animals that we have seen include Lizards, Caterpillars, Frogs, Toads, Eagles, many many sheep and a mouse, deer, jellyfish and a seal. The cottage itself was extremely well equipped and had stunning views across Loch Ewe.
Lovely to be back here again. Such a lovely spot - it's a real gem. Scenery is fantastic. Lovely to see all the sheep and lambs. Great welcome from Trish - the eggs are great. We're always made to feel at home. The weather has been great - blue sky, sunshine and warm. Had a great time and hope to be back again next year. Really love the cottage.
Our stay in this well appointed cottage was very comfortable. Lucky with the weather as the sun shone the whole week. On nodding terms with the sheep. This is a beautiful area. Some of the views are heartstoppingly beautiful.
Very much enjoyed our stay at this lovely cottage with such good views. Sunsets are outstanding, sheep are amusing, country living at its best. Delicious fresh langoustines from the local fisherman, and smoked scallops from the food emporium…Sorry to go, will be back..
We have been coming to Wester Ross for almost 30 years but it has been 16 years since we were in this cottage. It has been as enjoyable now as it was then. We are due to come back in October and it is our intention to make this our regular holiday home. Thank you for the eggs and pancakes, they were most enjoyable. Looking forward to October. Our GSDs, Brynn, Jack and Ross were great with the lambs and sheep.
