Travelling from Inverness to Wester Ross
By car
From Inverness take the A9 North over Kessock Bridge and follow the signs for Ullapool (A835). At Garve, 25miles from Inverness, either continue ahead for Ullapool, Achiltibuie, Laide and Aultbea, or turn left onto the A832 for Gairloch and Kinlochewe, and Lochcarron. At Kinlochewe go straight ahead for Gairloch and Poolewe or turn left for Torridon and Shieldaig. There are so few roads it is impossible to get lost.
By train
There is a rail service from Inverness to Kyle of Lochalsh which stops at Achnasheen, Achnashellach, Strathcarron and Attadale. www.scotrail.co.uk
