Torran Cottage is a traditional white-washed croft house close to the shores of Loch Gairloch. It is idyllically situated to capture all that Wester Ross has to offer from conquering a Munro to relaxing on one of the numerous secluded sandy beaches. Or why not take advantage of Torran Cottage’s home comforts; unwind and relax while absorbing the panoramic views across to the Torridon mountains or over the sea to Skye.
There is ample opportunity to observe wildlife whether seated on the garden terrace or sheltered in the sunroom.
The croft house dates back to the 1900’s and has been lovingly updated and modernised to provide spacious, comfortable accommodation. A log burner, central heating and double glazing ensure the cottage is warm and cosy all year round. We have just returned from a wonderful fortnight at Torran. We couldn’t fault anything!! The house was well designed and beautiful with amazing sea and mountain views and all done to an extremely high standard. The kitchen was very well equipped and touches such as warm, snuggly throws, comfy sofas, games trunk, book shelves, coffee machine and netflix meant that we were very cosy whatever the weather! Pam and Craig were excellent hosts, friendly and always ready to help but never intrusive. We felt very at home and wouldnt hesitate to recommend Torran for a lovely holiday!
Torran is a terrific holiday cottage which Pam and Craig have created with artistic flair and meticulous attention to detail. Every comfort has been considered to ensure a comfortable relaxing holiday - from the superbly equipped kitchen with very generous welcome pack supplies to the fluffy towels and Egyptian cotton bed sheets. The views from every aspect are breathtaking. It wouldn't matter what the weather throws at you sitting cosy by log fire admiring the magnificent Torridons! But we were super lucky - blue sky and sparkling sea every day - fantastic holiday!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Torran. The house is beautifully decorated, comfortable, warm and had everything we needed for a relaxing holiday. It fulfilled our expectations, having seen the reviews and photos on here. Highlights of the house include - the sun room, which is a great place to relax and enjoy the views, and the terrace, which the weather allowed us to enjoy a couple of times during our stay. The surrounding area is a lovely part of Scotland to explore. There are several beautiful beaches to explore that are a short drive away, such as Red Point and Big Sands (which were a big hit with our 3 year old), some lovely walks, and views to enjoy from pubs/restaurants - Badachro Inn was a favourite for us.
We stayed at Torran in March 2018. The house is furnished to an extremely high standard, the owners have gone above and beyond to provide for a relaxing, comfortable and stress free stay. From the comfortable furnishings which optimise the stunning views over Loch Gairloch and Skye to the unbelievably well equipt kitchen and a plethora of local reference books. We found Torran an ideal base for exploring the area. It was our first visit to the Scottish Highlands and we have fallen in love with the area. Each day has been different having explored from Ullapool to Applecross. The scenery is stunning. We have found local pubs and hotels providing first class fare and always with a warm welcome. We would love to come back.
Torran is just lovely and was the perfect base for our holiday. The picture postcard views from the windows are incredibly special and a definite highlight for us, along with the many beautiful beaches the area has to offer. The house has been lovingly renovated to a very high standard and was extremely comfortable and spacious for our family of four. We couldn’t have hoped for a nicer holiday home! The owners Pam and Craig were lovely.......extremely welcoming, helpful and friendly We would love to return some time and have already recommended Torran to many friends and family.
