If location is everything, then this is the cottage for you. It is situated right opposite the nicer of the two spectacular sandy beaches at Red Point. Stunning!! You can wake up in the morning and look over the sands, or better still, stroll along the beach before breakfast. The cottage is an old crofthouse which has been extensively refurbished with double glazing, central heating and all mod cons. The views are stunning. The house faces south and from all the windows there is a panoramic view of the Applecross peninsular over Loch Torridon, with the islands of Skye, Raasay and Rona. On a good day you can see the Outer Hebrides across the Minch.
Situated at the end of a 9 mile stretch of single track road, it is fairly secluded, the perfect escape from busy working lives. The recent Billy Connelly film ‘What we did on our holidays’ was filmed on the beach here.
Red Point is where the coastline south of Gairloch turns into Loch Torridon, and there is a beach on each bit of coastline, one facing west and the other facing south. On the southern-most beach are the remains of an old fishing station and from here it is possible to walk along the shore of Loch Torridon to Lower Diabeg, passing one of the SYHs more remote youth hostels. Pony trekking is available at Red Point.
Conservatory with views down to the beach and the Isle of Skye.
Cosy lounge comfortably furnished and with a multi fuel stove for those chilly days and a Freesat TV with Video and DVD player. Ample games, books, videos and DVDs to keep you amused. Views looking over towards the Applecross peninsular

The cottage and its view is wonderful. We loved the breakfasts in the annex and the walks to the beaches. The Location is perfect! We were thankful that it is so cozy and nice in your cottage because it was very stormy and rainy outside on some days. We recommend your place to anyone who likes having a great view in a cozy cottage in a silent and beautiful landscape.
Wow. What an amazing fortnight we’ve had. Thank you so much Jean for sharing this place with us, it will live long in the memory. The cottage itself felt like a home from home – very comfortable and clean. We will all miss those views looking out to the islands and watching the skies change. We saw some incredible sunsets. Weather could not have been better, so we feel very blessed to have experienced the place in the sunshine. Lovely walks to both beaches and to the Fairy Lochs nearby. Saw dolphins in the bay, golden eagles, had a curlew in the garden and on the last night an unexpected visit from a pine marten to the log in the garden where we’d been feeding the birds. What a send off! Hope to return another day, but for now we’ll take home our happy thoughts and photos of a brilliant holiday. Thank you.
Thank you so much for providing such a lovely, cosy cottage. We have had a fantastic week of beautiful weather. Sitting and watching the amazing sunsets from the sunroom has been a breathtaking highlight. We have walked, cycled the lovely road to Badachro and taken several dips in the sea with Mack. The beach is stunning – the water is gin clear – if a tad chilly! The cottage has everything needed for a perfect holiday and was immaculate. Visited Inverewe Gardens (beautiful), Gairloch, Arctic Convoy Museum and ullapool but still the best bit was coming home to sit and gaze at THAT view of Skye and the Hebrides. Thank you from all three of us. We will be back!
We had an amazing holiday in your lovely cottage. The location is stunning, we couldn’t have dreamt of a better one. And we loved our neighbours – the sheep, the cows and the ponies.
Beautiful, cosy cottage – hard to see any other location could beat the views here. We’ve enjoyed just sitting watching the views – everchanging and so relaxing. Rogue was so ecstatic to see sheep, horses and his first view of the Atlantic (got braver with putting his paws in as the week went on!) Lovely cakes at Coast Coffee and cosy nights in front of the coal fire and the downstairs shower felt very luxurious! Overall a lovely holiday in the most beautiful spot.
