Glenbrae, Charlestown, Gairloch

From its elevated position this split level detached house, which is both spacious and comfortably furnished, enjoys spectacular views across the harbour towards the Isle of Skye in the distance.

It is located near the harbour in the beautiful village of Gairloch in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Gairloch is a superb base from which to explore the wonderful coastal scenery and mountain ranges of the North West Highlands. There are also a good range of local shops and good hotels to eat out in. This part of Gairloch is particularly pretty and a very popular location for visitors, and visitors will find plenty to do in the immediate vicinity without the need to travel far afield. It is about 15 minutes walk to Gairloch beach, the golf course and the harbour from where you can go sea fishing, sailing or on a wildlife tour. Flowerdale Glen is a short walk away and provides many lovely walks and The Old Inn will quench your thirst after walking with a fine selection of real ales. Pony trekking is also available in Flowerdale.

The Popes

We came here with the sole purpose of doing nothing but reading and relaxing, and this house has been the perfect base in which to do just that! Apart from taking our pooch on local walks (recommend Red Point, Flowerdale and Gairloch beach – all suitable for families and dogs), and visiting the Old Inn (excellent wee pub, pooch friendly and the locals friendly) we sat in the living room and watched the weather change and the fishing boats come in.

Fell totally refreshed and can’t wait to return – the perfect escape.

The Ruickbie family

Another fabulous week. Accommodation with views first class. Enjoyed walks. Weather couldn’t have been better, even managed a swim.

Beryl and Guy,Sheffield

Sun, hail, snow, sun and rain. All the seasons in one week. We,ve never seen the colours so vivid with snow, gorse and blue sea. A lovely week for all of us in spectacular surroundings – Thank you.

The Aberdeen brigade

Enjoyed a great week – wonderful weather – not enough wind for the kite!!

Short walks and picnics – hope to be back next year (5th visit)

Rachel and Neil,Edinburgh

Great house, kids loved the playroom and toys, lots of space. Mixed weather. Amazing wildlife boat tour (Kerry boat) – porpoise, seals, loads of dolphins (and extra time to see the latter thanks to very kind skipper).
