Tigh Beag, Mellon Udrigle

This bungalow is only 300 yards from the glorious Mellon Udrigle beach. And what a beach - stunning white sand with clear turquoise water, spectacular in itself without the incredible view it offers of the mountains over Gruinard bay and Loch Broom. It is truly one of the best mountain vistas to be seen from any low level viewpoint in Scotland - from Quinag and Suilven in Sutherland to An Teallach in Wester Ross. This stunning view is enjoyed from the bungalow which sits on an elevated site overlooking the beach.

The beautiful sands are a fantastic place for exploring or just relaxing - the perfect spot to walk, picnic, or sit and watch the wildlife. Interesting sea birds and seals are a common sight here. On a calm, summer day, the beach is an ideal destination for families with young children, who can enjoy hours playing in the sand or hunting for crabs, starfish and shells amongst the rock pools.

The sheltered bay makes an excellent location for a variety of watersports. There are great walking & cycling opportunities near the house and the area is also excellent for freshwater or sea fishing. If this is not enough then there are plenty of other activities and places to visit nearby. The whole North West coast of Scotland is within a day’s drive.

John & Andrea

I first came here 41 years ago on a school camping trip. Since then I have returned on many occasions to explore Wester Ross, the Torridons and Sutherland. Such a lovely part of the world with super people always willing to help when needed. Tigh Beag and Mellon Udrigle (with the best beach in the UK!) is an enchanting location to stay. Thank you.

The Heslop family, Northumberland

We had a lovely holiday - the weather was settled, sunny sometimes with just enough wind to keep the midgies at bay. The cottage was very welcoming and has everything that we would need. We walked and swam and the visit to the Perfume Studio at Mellon Charles was special. Altogether a really enjoyable time for us all.

The Gibsons, Edinburgh

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Cottage very comfortable - the views are stunning! Weather has been mixed with a very welcome wind to keep the midges away! Had some lovely walks and a good visit to Inverewe. Shame no internet yet. Many thanks.
