2 Red Point, Red Point

If location is everything, then this is the cottage for you. It is situated right opposite the nicer of the two spectacular sandy beaches at Red Point. Stunning!! You can wake up in the morning and look over the sands, or better still, stroll along the beach before breakfast. The cottage is an old crofthouse which has been extensively refurbished with double glazing, central heating and all mod cons. The views are stunning. The house faces south and from all the windows there is a panoramic view of the Applecross peninsular over Loch Torridon, with the islands of Skye, Raasay and Rona. On a good day you can see the Outer Hebrides across the Minch.

Situated at the end of a 9 mile stretch of single track road, it is fairly secluded, the perfect escape from busy working lives. The recent Billy Connelly film ‘What we did on our holidays’ was filmed on the beach here.

Red Point is where the coastline south of Gairloch turns into Loch Torridon, and there is a beach on each bit of coastline, one facing west and the other facing south. On the southern-most beach are the remains of an old fishing station and from here it is possible to walk along the shore of Loch Torridon to Lower Diabeg, passing one of the SYHs more remote youth hostels. Pony trekking is available at Red Point.

The Moody's

Loved this location and the cottage. Having meals in the sun room must surely rank as one of the best views in Scotland. Time to read, walk and unwind. ..wish we didn't have to go. Worth every tedious mile from Oxford !!

Sandra & Steve Huxtable

What a great place, fantastic location with fabulous views all around. Done lots of walks in the area, seen lots of wildlife including grey seals, sea eagles and a golden eagle further up the coast. The cottage was everything we wanted, very comfortable with log fire brilliant for a relaxing peaceful week.

Andrew & Jean, Caithness

We came south and enjoyed sun, sea, sand, paddling, walks and a very comfortable stay. The dog loved the fire, we loved the view.

The Hanekoms, Huntly

An amazing place. The view and home outstanding, the kids found it very relaxing and enjoyed the house. The conservatory is brilliant....perfect place to sit quietly and watch gannets  diving. A true home environment, very much enjoyed & appreciated. Thank you !

The Astbury's

Had a very relaxing and peaceful break just what we needed. Very comfortable and spotless cottage, thank you Jean Bit of a rainy week but made the most of it and the ever changing scenery. The cosy log fire made up for the rain. Loved the conservatory and it's wonderful views A little bit of heaven.
