There is a leisure centre with sports facilities, a community centre which hosts a variety of local attractions, a tourist information centre and a filling station (now 24 hours, including Sundays and public holidays. Internet cafe facilities are available at several locations in the area and there is a swimming pool in the nearby village of Poolewe.

The immediate and surrounding areas are also a walkers and climbers paradise, with numerous low level routes, in and around the village, along with higher and more challenging routes, some of which are also close to the village, but also in the breathtaking Ben Eighe national park area, which takes in the Torridon Mountains and includes Liathach, Beinn Eighe and Beinn Alligan, three of the area’s magnificent Munros.

For those who prefer a more sedentary activity, there are many hill lochs, with trout fishing available or just enjoy the beautiful scenery and wildlife in the peace and tranquillity of this spectacular area of Wester Ross, in the North West Highlands.

Yule, Peterhead

Without a doubt the cleanest and most well equipped holiday home we can remember staying in. No weather forecast required - just look out the bedroom window at the loch and Beinn Alligin. One rainy day baking bread and gourmet cookies, otherwise 14 munros in one week. Not bad!

Simeon & Doreen, Colchester

Carol, we have had a wonderful week. Your welcome was warm, your home is a beautiful place, with every home comfort. Spotless. Thank you so much for allowing us to stay, we love it, will be back.

The Denovans, Farnham

A real home from home. Comfortable and spotless, very well equipped and it was a great week. I hope we will be back. We have recommended the property to several people already. Thank you.

The Beven family, Kirkintilloch

Thank you so much for a lovely warm welcome. We visit Gairloch often and love it more each time (rain, hail or shine). We are truly grateful to Carol who accommodated us at the very last minute. A beautiful, spotless house with every home comfort. We will return.

The Wright family, Glasgow

Absolutely loved our week here, we have stayed in a number of properties over the past five or six years and this is without doubt the best - very clean, comfortable and well equipped. More of a home from home. Hope to return next year. Really appreciated the 'welcome pack' - a lovely touch!!
