Drumchork Lodges are two of ten lodges built on this elevated natural site overlooking Loch Ewe and enjoying panoramic views and spectacular sunsets over Loch Ewe and beyond to the Western Isles. Built in 1980, each lodge has its own individual site and surrounding private garden area. Both lodges have large feature patio doors opening onto a verandah where you can sit and enjoy the spectacular views across the village to Loch Ewe and beyond.

Aultbea itself has a grocery shop, post office, excellent butcher famed for his black pudding (and the sausages are pretty good too!) and two hotels both doing meals. The nearest hotel is home to the smallest whisky distillery in Scotland and is the only distillery producing illicit style whisky using ancient methods. The lodges are ideally situated for touring this magnificent area and are a good base for walking, climbing, fishing or bird watching. Inverewe Gardens are only 6 miles away and the village of Gairloch 12 miles away. There are two beautiful sandy beaches within 8 miles of the lodges.

The accommodation is all at ground floor level. A large comfortable lounge has patio doors leading onto a verandah and a front garden area with picnic area. The windows look directly over the loch. The lounge has a comfortable 3 piece suite and dining table and chairs, and a TV with DVD player, radio/CD player and electric stove. There is a small but well equipped modern kitchen with fridge/freezer, electric cooker, microwave and washing machine. The bathroom has an over the bath shower. There are two bedrooms – a double and a twin. Heating is by a mixture of storage and panel heaters.
Each lodge is in its own grounds with picnic table, drying area and ample parking.

2 pets are allowed but the lodges are non-smoking.
Electric is included in the rent.

Directions

From Inverness follow the signs for Ullapool (A835). Continue on this road through Contin and Garve to Braemore Junction. Turn left onto the A832 Gairloch road and proceed for about 35 miles as far as Aultbea village. At Aultbea turn left at Drumchork. The lodges are about ¼ mile from the main road on the left opposite the Drumchork Lodge Hotel. Drumchork Lodges are towards the end of the row of lodges.
