Well I never was much good at keeping a diary !

The year didn't get off to a very good start. Our dearest friend Baz passed away last autumn and has left a huge hole in our lives. Baz was the founder of Hebridean Whale Cruises and ran the Chandlery in Gairloch. His son Nick has taken over the business and now has 2 boats doing whale and dolphin cruises. Sightings have been good, not quite as many whales as previous years but hundreds of dolpins - forget Mull, this is the place for wildlife. This year cruises are continuing throughout the winter months - weather permitting.

Talking of weather, we have had a mixed year. Spring and early summer were pretty good - in fact we were crying out for rain when the rest of the country was flooded. Once August arrived though, so did the rain and it forgot to stop. We even went away for a couple of days in September to see some sunshine. It didn't work though - it followed us. October has been mixed so far with a bit of everything.
